Ingredients:
- 4-5 fresh tomatoes, chopped (or 1 large can of diced tomatoes)
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 cups water
- 2 heaping scoops NutriCollagen Bone Broth Collagen
- Optional: Italian sausage (crumbled and cooked)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Grated Parmesan (for serving)
- Cooked pasta of your choice
Instructions:
Prepare Ingredients:
Chop the tomatoes and dice the onion.
Cook the Onions and Garlic:
In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the diced onions until tender and translucent.
Add the minced garlic and Italian seasoning, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Simmer the Sauce:
Add the chopped tomatoes and 2 cups of water to the pan. Stir to combine.
Reduce heat to medium-low and let the sauce simmer until the tomatoes break down and the sauce thickens, about 25-30 minutes.
Optional: Add Sausage:
If using Italian sausage, cook and crumble it in the pan before adding the tomatoes.
Finish with Collagen:
Once the sauce is ready, stir in 2 heaping scoops of NutriCollagen Bone Broth Collagen. Stir until fully dissolved.
Serve:
Spoon the sauce over your favorite cooked pasta and top with grated Parmesan cheese.
